Become a Parish Councillor?

As many folk will know Dave Holt and family are moving away from the area and, as such, a vacancy arises on the Parish Council. If you are interested in becoming a councillor, information about what you need to do is given in the notice below. The Parish Council would like to thank Dave very much for his service and to acknowledge the great contribution he has made to the community. The council would like to wish Dave and his family all the very best for the future.


NOTICE OF VACANCY IN OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR

PARISH OF CRAKEHALL


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the resignation of David Holt, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council. If by 30 July, 2020 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.


If an election is called, the poll cannot take place until 6 May 2021 as a result of the Coronavirus Act 2020 and the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales Regulations 2020.
