Prettiest Village in the Lower Dales
​
Although North Yorkshire has many attractive villages, Crakehall has rightly been described as the prettiest of those in the Lower Dales.
​
The five acre village green with its giant sycamores and lime trees is dominated by Crakehall Hall and is enclosed by stone built cottages dating back to the 17th Century.
​
Overlooked by the Village Inn, the green hosts both Cricket, including an annual match against the stars of Emmerdale, and quoits to provide the typical village green scene in the summer.
